Circular Economy? What is it?

13 maart 2024

For many, the term "Circular Economy" is familiar, but what exactly does it mean? In a circular economy, there is no waste; all raw materials used for a product are reused to make new products.

Unlike the linear model, where products are made, used and thrown away and have serious environmental consequences, a circular economy strives to close the production chain and prevents climate change such as deforestation and biodiversity loss.

This week is dedicated to the Circular Economy. Several conferences, workshops, lectures and network meetings are organised annually during this week to inspire people and raise awareness, especially among circular entrepreneurs.

The packaging sector we are active in with Argos has a significant impact on the environment, but as a sector we can also achieve great change together. It is therefore essential to develop innovative and future-proof packaging with all links in the chain. By doing so, we ensure lower CO2 emissions, among other things, thus reducing our impact on the environment and jointly contribute to achieving the targets set by the EU to become climate neutral.

What steps have you already taken in terms of circular economy? Are fewer materials already used in the production of your packaging?

We would love to engage in a dialogue with you to develop innovative and future-proof packaging. Curious? Then contact our specialist Miquel via md.vandenende@argos.nu or +31(0)174-630634.
